Studio Nong - International Sculpture Collective and Residency Program
In the summer of 2013, Studio Nong was co-established by Misty Gamble, Jessie Fisher, Bangmin Nong, and Leandra Urrutia in the PRC. It is an ongoing exchange of methodologies that stem from common artistic interests and produces a wide range of artwork during compressed but intensive periods. Allegorical sculpture, academic figuration, magical realism, monumental busts, mixed media, sculpture, installation, architectural form and spiritual edifice, metaphysical shifts in scale, oil painting, ink drawing and calligraphic abstractions, cover the ranges these artists have connected with and explored in the time they have been working together in residencies that have taken place in the United States and China. Current membership also includes Zhenhai He, Shanwu Huang, Scott Seebart, and Jigang Qin.
